Would the bible be considered an allusion? it's for my english categorise...
An allusion is when a person mentions qualities aspects or themes of someone else's work of art in their own art or when a person in conversation mentions a work of art. The mention is often subtle. "I saw the Mona Lisa yesterday" is not an allusion. "My mother has that same enigmatic smile of Leonardo's lady" is an allusion. The Bible is alluded to all the time in Western literature as is Greek Mythology. The Bible itself is not an allusion. It is not the work of art or literature that is the allusion. Allusion is the mention of such a work of art.
I consider the Bible a bookLet me tell - A BOOKA lot of people are making good MONEY because of this BOOK. The Bible without question is the bestselling BOOK in the world. And I'm sure it enlightens people like many other BOOKS. But It's the BIBLE so you have a write who cares. If it helps - bonus. But it's still a BOOK!!!
No the Bible isn't an allusion. Everything in that "Book" as some call it has been proven in history. No other "book" will have such great results when aplied to your life.
Allusion is the act of referring to something indirectly. A bit of the Bible may be indirect but most of it is directly in your face like "Love your enemies."The Bible is a collection of many writings by many authors. There are stories histories biographies and letters and political commentary. There are songs poems wise sayings laws and commandments. There are lessons about life and love and God. Jews accept the Old Testament authors were inspired by God. Christians accept both the Old and New Testament authors are inspired by God. With love in Christ. [ADVERTHERE]Related article:
