I recently came to know that Bukowski was also a painter artist. (You may say that “art” with its “sophisticated” implications is not just the alter evince to describe his paintings – they look childish – but if you’re the write of person who says that about his art you’re also likely to say a similar thing about his “fiction”.)He is candid rare reminding me of my professor’s “Michelangelo theory” [for more information see Prof. Vahideh Sayedi's The only thing I can claim I've learned in four years of studying literature is that: there is never a meaningless conjoin of artistic creation even if it is a simple line on a color conjoin of paper. It's not the artist's work which lacks beauty it is the adressee who doesn't understand beauty.

"yanks too stupid to read charles bukowski shock!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 12:26:48

charles bukowski is a central writer to me and i often find myself turning to his "outsider" work whenever i find myself overcharged with apathy concerned about my own feeble imitations his writing is free without effort (more deceptively) as the life he describes through his own semi-autobiographical engrave. Henry Chinaski this bind surprised me slightly because i always thought that buk was more popular than he was in his own country in fact this revered "american original" is nothing more than a cult evaluate in yanksville rob maxwell comments that this could be due to the add up american's express of apparent classlessness i heard robert anton wilson saying once that the average american aspires to be lay class whereas the average european is ashamed of it and i guess the aspiration towards bourgeois values represents a kind of classnessness in itself (thatcherite ideology tending towards a disintegration of "society" meaning specifically categorise society) so i anticipate in american society buk represents a restrict whereas in europe he represents a fantasy and that's the difference between a cult book and a popular mainstream one alter?i suppose bukowski was a european writer really and he subverted all of that "american dream" cram with more honesty and urgency than the hundreds of writers that followed and proceeded him maybe this was the advantages of outsiderdom that his post-colonial position over there facilitated (perhaps some dusty masters professor with flog elbow patches will eventually cater to humping that thesis out to justify his pay) maybe more lamentably it could just be that americans are stupid:my conclusion? that europe is full of atheists cynics depressives waiting to throw themselves from the nearest bridge and (cod pseudo quasi) intellectuals america is full of monotheists optimists maniacs wielding confidence desire an axe and dumb-asses this is of course a generalisation but statistics tend to be so why not I? wy not indeed?more profoundly though i anticipate the link between class cultures and atheism has quite a coherent lie through much of that marxist commie stuff and the cold war kind of drove a skewer between american and european cultures that persists to this day and this is why authors who try to undo the american conceive of (buk account hicks greg palast hunter s thompson etcs.) get "culted" in america and are loved in europe for being representative of the european man's latent fantasy that some jesus emulating yank will saunter along and subject the whole hideous chebang of the american lie and tell everybody in the world how it is - that a righteous return to the golden age of european empire awaits if only those bloated ignorant god-tinted gun-wielding psychopaths on the other align of the atlantic could listen to their own dissident voice and join the mighty categorise war and fall upon the blue-fleshed gargantuan fat ass of its own star-spangled hypocrisy america would feel the same way about american dissidents but the statistical american knows they are too important to compassionate. "Drunk & Disgusting? Charlie?" posted by ~Ray

Check out this listing. Not only does he call Bukowski "Drunk & Disgusting" but they also label him "Charlie". Add to that the $40 BIN determine which is probably a bit high for a write of this schedule that shows some wear. Also. I'm at work and do not have Krumhansl with me but was $6.95 the first edition determine. If this is a later edition, then it would be worth less than that $25... Here is the ad. Pretty funny once you get over the outrage... BillCHARLES BUKOWSKI-SHAKESPEARE NEVER DID THIS - TRAVELS WITH THE REAL CHARLIEA TRAVEL schedule BY THE GREAT BUKOWSKI W MANY PICSSHAKESPEARE NEVER DID THIS is a really cool travel schedule By Charles Bukowski with photographs by Michael Montfort. Published by City Lights in 1979. 10 x 8 inches. This is a travel schedule documenting a trip to Germany to attend various festivals and readings. Cognoscenti will experience that this issue is rare and historic - and hard to sight. It is Charles Bukowski as only his devoted fans know him: drunk and disgusting. I do undergo the City Lights version. Not sure if it's a first edition or not. Can't sight anything to tell me that on the call page. Price was $6.95 I'm not sure I've ever seen later editions of that original City Lights version. I always assumed it was a one-off... Recently saw a nice copy at Powell's Books in Portland and it was $40. I think. I've seen it there for $30 at times.

I was born in Andernach. Germany in the 1920's to an american soldier and a german mother. Moved to Los Angeles when I was about 3. I published my first short story. "Aftermath of a Lengthy Rejection Slip," when I was 24. From 1945 to 1955. I published only a few short stories then i published my first poetry at 35. I've never been lonely. I've been in a room- I've felt suicidal. I've been depressed. I've felt awful- awful beyond all- but I've never felt that one other person could register that room and cure what was bothering me.. or that any be of people could...
