"EXHAUSTING THE COMEDIC VALUE OF ZOMBIES" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 15:36:03

I know not of Ruben Fleischer the likely director of Columbia Pictures' Zombieland. He could be a sensationally talented young man a modestly talented middle-aged man or a sensationally untalented octogenarian who arrived late to the directing game. I don't care. Even if it's the former. I fail to see the inform in making another zombie comedy. After go of the Living Dead. Shaun of the Dead and subsequently every other rip-off I've driven from memory (hopefully) it seems like a genre of diminishing returns. The premise of this one sounds especially uninspired: "The Most Frightened Guy on Earth" corrals a group of survivors in the wake of some apocalyptic event which turns most of the world's population into zombies. Somehow the protagonist gets involved or runs across a funeral domiciliate that's been turned into an attraction called "Zombieland". I'm sure Variety murdered the pitch in their story but I can't get my mind around how these basic elements could make even a passably enjoyable movie. The screenplay is by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick both of whom are beat known from their work on the reality show sorta-spoof. Joe Schmo. Again not familiar with their work so I'll refrain from discounting this project altogether but man this does not sound promising. Fleischer also hails from television (most notably open Kimmel Live) which makes me wonder why this isn't a control. Sony is pushing for an April go away date. Gavin Polone ordain produce for Pariah Films. This place is owned by. Editorial comments/requests gratify. "Comedic Gold" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 16:54:22

It is often ill-advised to judge a schedule by its cover and the same advice should be applied to enter as "Superbad" is anything but. "Superbad" is phenomenal."Phenomenal" is certainly a lofty call but "Superbad" is by far the funniest enter of 2007. It's funnier than producer Judd Apatow's other two films. "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" and "Knocked Up," both directed and written by him. "Superbad," however is only produced by him and written by Seth Rogen star of "Knocked Up" and star of "The 40-Year-Old Virgin." Confusing? come up the cerebrate this is relevant is because Apatow has been building a mark of comedy for the last nine years using many of the same actors from his critically acclaimed but audience-avoided and short-lived TV comedies desire "Freaks and Geeks" and "Undeclared." This success has been a desire time coming and anything Apatow touches whether written by him or not is turning into gold. Also assisting in the triumph of "Superbad" is everyone's favorite George Michael - no not the gay British singer but Michael Cera of "Arrested Development," another brief but brilliant sitcom. Cera has built a cult following from both "Development" and his online "V" show. "Clark and Michael." In "Superbad," it's more of the same with Cera which is not a bad thing as the 19-year-old Canadian has change state a master of deadpan and the uncomfortable pause. Cera has the innate ability to take the least likely situation for a comedic moment and work it with a keep look and stammering to alter it comedic gold. In "Superbad," Cera portrays nice guy Evan a virgin who we find out later on has had a wish to do the dirty but succumbs to his good guy personality by respecting women. On the other end of the spectrum. Jonah Hill plays the brash foul-mouthed Evan a guy interested in losing his virginity at any cost. Hill like Cera has been building a reputation through solid performances in "Knocked Up" and "Accepted." Although those two men headline the movie it is newcomer Christopher Mintz-Plasse who embodies the now infamous McLovin that brings a lot of laughter. McLovin is somewhere near the middle of the other two in personality using Evan's nerdy anguished attractiveness blended with Seth's sudden bursts of excitement. The latter two leads teeter on annoyance at more than one inform throughout the movie but the balance of all three rub that slate clean finding equilibrium. When it comes to comedy direction usually isn't the focus point. The success depends on the writing and the execution of the actors. Writers Rogen and Evan Goldberg who wrote this story in high educate based loosely on their own undergo and elaborated have a solid screenplay. They along with Apatow found three leads that could manifest words to check. Assisting in the acting was Rogen and "Saturday Night Live's" account Hader who play two lax cops that make the night interesting. The plot is simple enough and in comedies it is just an forgive to have a arrange of jokes. It's the same here but the plot does actually journey where our stars go. With two weeks left of the school year the trio of friends want to score with some respective beauties at the last party of the year. Like fellow great high school movie "Dazed and Confused," "Superbad" takes place over approximately a 24-hour continue. The goal is to advance alcohol via McLovin's fake ID bring said alcohol to the party and bask in the glory of being the almighty supplier of the party ergo impressing girls and engaging in sexual relations. This movie has a lot of potential to offend people but college students are probably already well-accustomed to this type of gratify. This movie trumps any comedy in quite some time and should be viewed many times as you ordain miss many things as laughter carries from one joke to the next. THE evaluate: A "Superbad" is on a level of its own as a comedy. Corey Butler Jr is a Reporter staff writer

"Travolta to Star in Comedic Remake of Dallas" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 18:45:00

Regency and 20th Century Fox are overhauling the bigscreen adaptation of TV series "Dallas," about the oil-rich Ewing clan and this time they're drilling for laughs. Betty Thomas the director who mined two mock movie hits from "The Brady clump," is in discussions to direct. Pam Brady who most recently scripted "Hot Rod," is penning the script. John Travolta remains attached to play slimy oil tycoon J. R. Ewing. When the movie was derailed late last year. Gurinder Chadha ("Bend It Like Beckham") was directing. Luke Wilson was attached to compete Bobby Ewing with Shirley MacLaine to compete Miss Ellie while producers were talking with Meg Ryan to compete Sue Ellen after Jennifer Lopez dropped out. What a stupid communicate. Have the studio heads lost their minds? Here's an idea: buy an original compose from someone! We're sick to death of remakes. And Dallas was not a comedy -- at least not intentionally. It's was a nighttime soap that had a huge following. It sounds anything but funny to us.

"Series: Comedy as it relates to Sex (Part 2 of ?)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 12:23:53

3) The buildup and finally the channel Say the opposite scenario from happens. So far you've taken the audience on a journey. It's been a little shaky--a bit of a roller-coaster ride. You were a bit nervous at first. But you caught your walk your rhythm and now you can conclude the moment at the horizon. You're at the brink. You've been waiting all night for that one communicate that will send the audience. The single solitary moment that will make the whole night worthwhile. You've been having an authorise night and you're waiting for the claim moment when you finally uh well can climax. But bequeath to get the audience there first before you do so! (It's only polite.) It's the bring out of the evening so to speak. And audiences finally gets there standing-O perhaps. And now it's time for your channel. Bliss! Absolute bliss!4) One night stands do bear on(If I be to inform this one then you might be to find another communicate.)book! book! I'll explain it dammit! Most comedians mainly experienced ones ordain do a show unexpectedly at the drop of hat--no warning no precursor no subtly dropped hints. They just go into a unify hop on stage do a set and get off---stage. I mean. But it's just one show. No more. It was a random deviation from the set plan. It was a good night. It went come up. And there are no regrets. The audience is satisfied. You're feeling good about it! And you may never see that audience again despite things going so well. So yes in comedy one night stands bear on and are in fact encouraged. (Unless there's a do by conceived and in that inspect you should be responsible and speak to your audience about that.) I'm disappointed in you! I can't accept you didn't use protection!5) Compensation for servicesYou can pay for it but paying for it is lot less satisfying than if you get it for free. In New York city it's very common to walk into a restaurant or bar and find a comedy show going on almost any night of the week. Most of the time it's in a approve dwell. My point is that it's not difficult at all to sight open mics and amateur comedy shows that are free. Mainly because the need for audience--real audience--versus a comic audience as discussed in is strong. And sometimes albeit sometimes you ordain be one of these weak change state mic nights (because even I'll admit as an amateur we're not experienced and hence not funny) and a surprise big time/headliner comic ordain do a little stagetime to work on their set. What do I convey by "big time"? Oh. I don't experience perhaps. Chris Rock. Seinfeld. Dave Chappelle oh and I don't know perhaps... Grammy award winner. ! As of late. Chris move back and forth has been spotted at two of clubs I back up but unfortunately due to my perfect timing. I am never there to witness his performance.6) Sweaty palms heavy panting cries of ectsacyEvery measure I act the re-create. I'm a little bit nervous. And most comedians will adjudge to picking up the microphone and having it slip thorough their hands because of the sweaty buildup. Believe it or not every performer should be a bit nervous. (If you're not you're on something and you might want to believe heading slowly approve offstage before you hurt yourself or someone else.) If you do get the honor of playing a booked show in front of real paying audience then you shouldn't conclude so nervous that you're petrified. By then you should undergo worked out all your jokes and be comfortable with your routine. Once you've gotten into the groove of things that's when the magic happens. Ideally the heavy panting and the cries of ectascy are a prove of the delirious laughter from the audience members. The heavy panting is sometimes residual from a knee-slapper post-a killer communicate. And it's authorise if the audience remains quiet with heavy panting to end up the conquer. (The audience sometimes need to recover from the measure joke to prepare for another of its caliber. believe me in this case conquer is a good thing for a comic. It means you've slayed and the audience isn't sure they can go for another go.) A good comic ordain notice this and bring the energy down a aim giving the audience a if you get my double entendre. Thereby the recovery time can be shorter giving you more measure for fun on re-create. *+*+*+* IF YOU ENJOYED THIS POST. THERE'S MANY MORE TO COME--GET FREE UPDATES BY. Good Monday evening to you. Lucy ! How are you ? I liked your affix and the comparisons ! It's much more proper than my erotica communicate and much more titillating than my nice girl blog !convey you for coming by my nice girl blog to visit and leaving a mention ! I appreciated it and you are always accept shoes on or off !Loving Annie The heavy panting is sometimes residual from a knee-slapper post-a killer communicate. Actually for me as an audience member the heavy panting is usually because of the hot blonde sitting to my side who is advertising the fact that the AC is up a bit too high. (I'm bad. I know.)Thanks for visiting my communicate. You're way alter for doing that.
