I read this letter to The Star with interestMP has right to communicate upMinister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz’s mention that MP S. K. Devamany should resign from the MIC for speaking out for the Indian community is uncalled for. The esteemed minister has obviously overlooked the fact that an elected representative is just that – elected by his constituents to be them in Parliament. In this case. Devamany is a voice representing the Indian community and that is exactly what he has done. We have been told that the Indian community is well represented in the Government and that we should use proper avenues to air our grievances. I couldn’t agree more. Therefore isn’t an MIC MP speaking up in Parliament a proper bring? So why then should he resign from the MIC? If every MP representing the Indian community has to leave office or be suspended from his duties for speaking up then we need to
redefine the meaning of an elected representative to “one who is a yes-man” to everything said regardless of whether it benefits the very people who elected him/her.
So let’s not blindly shut off the voice that speaks up. CHITRA SAKRABANI. Penang. Well said. The Whip expect all backbenchers to sing to their tune. No dissenting opinions. What nonsense! Expect all to be spineless and alter followers. I dont think Dr Toh Kin Woon would care if ever he was given the boot for speaking out his mind about the country's situation. Rather than sleep with a heavy conscience pricking his heart he spoke of what has gone awry with all the demonstrations in the street. Something is seriously wrong and the leaders are still in slumber and set in their denial syndrome. People are crying for attention to their plight. Aren't they duty bound being elected representatives to take obey to seek solutions to address discontent unhappiness that is plaguing the nation. I am still sore about the case of the suspended student from UPM. There is clearly no consistency in the actions taken for breach of discipline. I remembered students who roughed up another group of students were let off during one orientation year. I cannot remember which year. God above is watching. God is just. God will broach fairly those who undergo maligned others unjustly. Cry for Malaysia.
Need to work and continue working cant take things lightly an organised person who cannot stand fill so most holidays will try to sight time to declutter and cart.[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
